Mindful of its civic responsibility to the Thai society, HATC joins hand with various organizations in the government as well as private sectors to work for the enhancement of Thai people's quality of life -- be it in terms of education, environment or safety.


Honda Thailand Foundation

Established on August 6, 2002 , the Honda Thailand Foundation was formed to support the Honda Group in Thailand 's continuing commitment to improve Thai society. The Foundation focused on activities specifically aimed at promoting education, traditional Thai culture and humanitarian aid.

These include, for instance, donation of computers to needy schools through Plant the Tree of Knowledge Project of the Ministry of Education, contributions to the Elephant Foundation of Thailand and to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment's Elephant Patrols for Forest Conservation and Eco-tourism project and Kathin Rite at Wat Prabaht Nampu for AIDS victim contribution.



School Environmental Challenge Awards

On the occasion of H.M. the King's 6 th Birthday Cycle in 1999, the Honda Group of Companies in Thailand initiated and funded a widely acclaimed School Environmental Challenge Awards Projects in Honour of H.M. the King project. Aimed at inculcating environmental awareness among school children, our Group joined forces with the Thai Environment and Community Development Association (Magic Eye), along with the Education Ministry, Interior Ministry, and Science, Technology and Environment Ministry.

Elementary and secondary schools nationwide have been invited to participate in the competition. Honda takes pride in its initiative to develop school-centre and action-oriented environmental awareness among future generations of Thai citizen, not to mention their families, teachers and local communities.


Automobile Industry Technical College

In an effort to produce a highly-skilled, technical workforce to support Thailand 's increasingly sophisticated automotive industry, Honda joined hand with the Vocational Department, Ministry of Education to establish the Automobile Industry Technical College (AITC) in Ayudhya province in 1999. The Honda Group of Companies in Thailand rendered support with a budget of 100 million baht for land, buildings and equipment.

AITC is the region's first specialist automotive training institute. Its two-year curriculum consists of subjects such as mechatronics, auto-mechanical, welding, industrial engineering, production technology and electronics.
